Application fields of vacuum induction furnaces

   I. Application Fields of Vacuum Casting Furnaces

  (1) Smelting of active metals. Such as rare earth metals and alloys, Ti and its alloys, uranium, alkaline earth metals and alloys.

  (2) Preparation of high-purity metals and alloys. Such as high-purity target materials, coating materials, solar-grade polysilicon, high-purity metals, etc.

  (3) Preparation of high-precision composition alloys and compounds. Such as intermetallic compounds, micro-alloyed materials, and materials containing dispersed phases.

II. Principle of Vacuum Casting Furnace

The crucible of the vacuum casting furnace is made of pure copper, and the crucible body is cut into several segments with small holes drilled inside for water cooling. When smelting metals using this method, high-frequency induction heating is used. The metal ingots in the crucible generate eddy currents under the action of the high-frequency magnetic field, thus generating heat and melting. The gaps in the crucible body help reduce the shielding of the high-frequency magnetic field by the crucible wall, so that more power reaches the ingots.

At the same time that eddy currents are generated on the ingots, eddy currents are also generated on the crucible wall. At this moment, the direction of the eddy currents in each segment of the crucible wall is the same as that of the eddy currents on the ingots. However, on the outer side of the ingots near the crucible wall, the direction of the eddy currents is exactly opposite to that of the eddy currents on the inner wall of the crucible segments.

Therefore, a strong magnetic flux with instantaneous changes is generated in the coil. When the metal or other object to be heated is placed in the coil, the magnetic flux will penetrate the entire object to be heated. In the interior of the object to be heated, in the direction opposite to the heating current, a corresponding large eddy current will be generated. Due to the resistance in the object to be heated, a lot of Joule heat will be generated, causing the temperature of the object itself to rise rapidly, achieving the purpose of heating all metal materials. Induction melting furnaces are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly induction heating equipment with high heating efficiency and speed for metal materials.
